The Western Equestrian team is having a meeting all about our club on Tuesday August 26th at 8:45 pm in Ballantine ha
Dues are due tomorrow, 9/16 at 11:59pm. Make sure you get your dues in because if you do not pay in time for you practice, then you cannot practice! We don't want to deny anyone their chance to ride and have a great time!
We had a great social this evening! It was great to see everyone on both teams and thank you to everyone that brought/cooked food!
Just a reminder that the western team evaluations have MOVED to SEPTEMBER 9th. We will send out an email reminding everyone of this and setting up carpools. Also a reminder, if you were not able to attend please email us at [email protected] because we handed out some important paperwork. Luckily a lot of it is online so it will be easy to send you the links! Paperwork and dues are due September 11th so be sure to get those in! Again, it was great seeing everyone and please feel free to tag whoever you want! Thanks to everyone who came out to the call out meeting last night with the Indiana University Equestrians! It was a huge success and it was nice to see so many people that were interested in our awesome teams!
Just a reminder, our first social will be held this next Monday, September 2nd, at 6pm. It will also be with the English team, so if you are interested in joining both teams, this social is for you! We will be doing the majority of our paperwork at this social so it is important that you come! An email will be send out to you shortly reviewing what was said at the call-out meeting if you were unable to make it. Please email us at [email protected] if you have any questions or cannot attend the social! We had a great show at regionals! Everyone who went should be so proud of what they have accomplished this year. That being said, this is the official end of our season and we have a few more things to wrap up before summer comes. :)
__________________________________________________________ Banquet We would love to have all you lovely ladies come join us for a night of delicious food and a great time with your club! We are planning on having it April 13th in the evening at Uptown Cafe on Kirkwood. The delicious, amazing food will be free for you as a big thank you from us for making this year so awesome. If you are planning on attending the banquet (and we really hope all of you do!), please send the following to our email account ([email protected]) by March 20 (the Tuesday after Spring Break):
Also, traditionally the Equestrian team banquet gives out awards at the end of the year so we need your nominations! With the above information, please also send us your nominations for the following categories:
And that is all I have regarding the banquet! If you have any questions, feel free to just send us an email and I'll answer them ASAP. ___________________________________________________ Board Elections Now we get to switch gears and discus another very important topic: Board Elections. One of the main reasons we separated to form our own club was to give our western riders an opportunity to have leadership positions in the club. This is your opportunity!! There will be five positions next year:
Congrats everyone on a fantastic season! We finished it out strong at SMWC with second and third place as a team as well as our Codi McConnell getting high point rider! We also have an unprecedented 5 people going to regionals! As if the news could not get better, we finished third overall in our region this year!
Although the show season is over, there will still be events to participate in with the team! We are in the process of planning some kind of social event if you all are interested! Please leave some ideas either in the comments here or on our Facebook page! Also, even if you did not qualify for regionals, you are more than welcome to come and cheer on the team (not to mention, have a whole lot of fun in the process). Tentative schedule: We will be heading down Friday afternoon, going to the 6 PM show at SMWC, then crashing for the night in Terre Haute. Keep your eyes open for an email going out closer to the show date with more details and how to let us know you want to attend! Again, it has truly been an absolutely amazing show season with the IU Western Team. I'm so so so proud of every single person on the team. You have all grown in your riding abilities so much this year and I just know you are going to have even greater show seasons in the future!! Cheers! -Jenna At the SMWC show, we had only 5 of our members competing but still did a great job! Special congrats to Codi McConnell for winning High Point rider!
Also, the site is experiencing a few changes. For example, now we have a members tab where you can find anything you ever needed to know as a member of the club. This includes news, show schedule, our photo gallery, and our individual IHSA points so you can always know where you stand. Additional good news: We are currently 3rd place as a team in the region. This is huge. Really really huge. We have a chance at first but to get it, we will need all our riders to participate in the upcoming two shows if at all possible! Let's finish the year on top! In the meantime, keep being amazing! We had a great show last weekend! The team won both the morning and afternoon high point awards, a first for our young team. Congrats to Brooke Blackard for High Point Rider in the afternoon show and Codi McConnell for Reserve High Point Rider in the morning show. Both Andrea and Jenna pointed out of their classes, joining Kara in the Advanced class. Congratulations to all riders from this past show; you should really be proud of yourselves!
